Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, means that there has never been a more exciting time for sport and coaching in the UK. The recruitment and support of current and subsequent coaches at all levels is crucial if we are to create a sporting legacy that goes beyond the 2012 Games.
Nationally work is being undertaken by all key organisations involved in sport to implement the UK Coaching Framework and develop a 'World Class Coaching System', where skilled, active and qualified coaches can be supported and developed to support and guide the improvement of children, players and athletes at all stages of their development.
To meet this challenge, work on the coaching agenda in West Yorkshire is developing at pace. West Yorkshire Sport is is working closely with National Governing Bodies of Sport, local authorities, and other key partners to ensure a strong, joined up approach is taken to developing coaching in the county.
